This product was received for free! This product was a wonderful experience to be able to compare to my other dishwasher pods I currently had. (Note: from being previously gifted them, I have 4 other brands of dishwasher pods I use in rotation) SPOILER: these pods BLEW the others away! I performed 3 separate “tests” for each of the five types of pods I had (15 dishwasher runs totals), measuring the product on multiple aspects: -scent of product upon the wash being finished -“spotting” -grime/grease/food removal This product was the only of the 5 products to score TOP scores on each aspect, on ALL three tests. SMELL: The (lemon) scent was quite strong (but not in an overbearing sense!). It did not smell artificial either, surprisingly! I want to note that while some of the other pods used in the testing are “older”, I do not recall them even when I had used them right after buying them smell to the same extent of these! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SPOTTING: This was the real big difference between the other 4 brands I utilized. The disparity ranged between spotting being VERY evident, and in the case of these pods, NON-EXISTENT. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GRIME/GREASE/FOOD REMOVAL: This was the aspect that had least variety between my tests. This product still performed very well and had no instances of any grime/grease/food being left on any of the dishes for its 3 loads! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ————————- This trial product really was cool to be able to do a test trial and has solidified my opinion on this product/brand. I believe that some of my other products were more “budget” brand, I think that the quality warrants paying additional to ensure that the end result is top notch. Excellent product! The fresh lemon scent gently filled my senses even before I opened the package. I decided to put the product to a full test and placed a dirty lasagna pan in the dishwasher without rinsing! I also decided to skip rinsing off all dinner plates. That mess met its match with Cascade Action Pac Platinum Plus Lemon! The pan and everything else in that load came out squeaky clean- no spots or leftover “gunk” on anything! The dishes smelled like lemon after washing. And I noticed that lemon fresh scent was still there when taking the items out of the dishwasher and especially when putting the dishes away. My entire kitchen now smells fresh, clean and vibrant from this product! The pods are very convenient to use and easy to store-not much space is needed for these tiny but powerful pods. I usually buy a 36 count item and minimal storage space is needed. I’ve tried many different dishwasher pods and powders throughout the years and find Cascade to be the best all-around cleaner and value. Bargain brands don’t compare to Cascade and more expensive brands don’t clean any better than Cascade Action Pac Platinum Plus Lemon and aren’t worth the extra cost. Cascade offers excellent cleaning at a reasonable pricepoint. The powerful combination of Cascade, Dawn and lemon can’t be beat. I used a pod on a full load and a smaller load with excellent results for both load sizes.  

Thank you Influenster and Cascade for my free sample in exchange for my honest review. These Cascade Platinum Plus packs are so cute. They are a tiny block that contains everything you need to do a load and it fights for you. The lemon scent is very nice when you open the packet but o don’t smell it on the dishes or in the dishwasher when it is working. I baked beef pot pie and the put the remaining filling in a pan and through it in the oven. You can see in the photo, that I slightly burned the filling in the metal pan. The pie pan has pie crust and some filling stuck to it. The upper rack of my dishwasher was a plastic container that I was storing soup and you can see some leeks stuck to the container. I did not rinse the dishes or pre-soak them and just put them in the dishwasher and throw in one Cascade pack and wow! The pie pan came out clean, the plastic container as well clean. The baked in slightly burnt pan came out like 98% clean and then I just slightly used a sponge to get the last bits off the pan. No scrubbing needed, just a light pressure of my sponge and it piped out and clean. I call that success because I did not have to do anything but put leftovers in fridge and dump the pan into the dishwasher. This is my new dishwashing detergent.

I usually use finish powerball; however, I gave these a try since they were on sale and they don't have annoying individual wrappers like the finish powerball.

Huge mistake. This product appears to clean my dishes very well, but it leaves a strong perfume smell in my new silicone and plastic dishware. I can even taste the cascade on the silicone now. I'm sure it's food safe, but I would definitely avoid these pods.

I would also like to note that this is a new dishwasher that is routinely cleaned.

I will likely go back to powerball because they are cheaper at my local Costco compared to Cascade, they clean just as well, and they don't leave a smell on silicone and plastic. I saw some other reviews here observing the same smell - to which the representative warns against using old plastic and silicone that may be porous. Well, almost all customers have some sort of old silicone and plastic dishware, so I guess this product isn't for most customers.
